hi, just want to say a little about my beginner class yesterday! i’m feeling much more confident in my beginner class. today one of the students hugged me, and we didn’t even know each other before class. i know i need to get my ego out of the way, but it just feels so good when you know you’ve helped someone in their yoga journey. I went slow, and had lots of props. chanted the mantra about removing barriers in this month’s yoga journal. then kept expanding on my chit, ananda theme i’ve been doing thru out the week. stayed for kara’s class which was like a workshop style class, love those type of classes. she taught the balance series from this month’s yoga journal. i couldn’t do any of the squats so i modified with standing poses, while class was in the squatting version. Kara has a book of poetry, which has poems for different asanas. she started out reading the child’s pose poem, while we were in restorative child’s pose at the beginning of class. it’s pretty cool listening to these poems while you’re in the actualy pose. it makes you ponder your asana a little more, and pershaps even becoming more aware of your feelings during the asana. thanks for sharing that kara!!! today i teach at marshes light at 11am. i have several beginners so it will be a gentle stretch with lots of alignment tips. I chose the above picture, b/c nancy goodfellow changed my downward dog,and this is exactly how you do it right! i wish i had a downward dog like lara, trying to get there!! peace and love

hope everyone has a great weekend. i’m teaching in manteo “always” on tues and thurs at 4pm and wed. at 9am for sanderling property owenrs. I’m thinking about starting more classes soon, so we’ll see what happens! BALANCE! i’ve had a lot of people wanting an athletic flow, and then another gentle stretch.thanks for eveyone’s support.
